I have had random flu / virus poorliness for 14 days now, including all of the swine-flu symptoms (my boss says I have piggy-sniffles). If I actually had swine flu, I could sell my story to the tabloids for loads of money but as it is, I have just been a grumpy sick lady! :p

We got our payslips today showing our annual salary increase. It was tiny, but tiny is better than nothing! I went shoe shopping to celebrate, and negotiated a £15 discount on my 2 pairs of shoes as one was missing a jewel (am snipping them all off anyway) and the other pair was a display pair. Took Claire & Will out for dinner, now we are drinking vodka goodness and watching american idol :) I am a happy girl :)

Weight lost - 2kg, 8 to go
Days without cigarettes - 0. Fail.

I want to give up giving up smoking. It's too hard.

My snow-related injuries are sore and I have just got up, my lovely bosses said I can take the day off and come in tomorrow, on my real day off instead so I don't have to take sick leave.  I am such a moaner.  Will someone come and make me some food please?  :)

In other news, I just fell head over heels down the slippy 6 front steps and landed on my back.  It hurts.

firstly, very many thanks for the birthday messages :)  i had a pretty good day involving new shoes in the post, bacon & eggs, a shiny sparkly ring, a scary turquoise lemur, adventures in the market looking at meat, lots of cuddles from lovely friends, a trip to the pub, lots of red wine, takeaway, and noisy singing. 

apart from birthday goodness, in recent news there has been much watching of angel, a day of cleaning of kitchen cupboards, football obsessiveness (will has got me into gambling, oh dear.. but i am winning money, yaaay), and a quantity of liam goodness who has been up to visit.  i have also slipped back into my natural time clock of staying up til late and sleeping til lunchtime. 

oh, and the reason why i wanted to post was to tell everyone that we had this for dinner.  it was quite tasty, but could have done with some pork sausage meat and roasties cooked in duck fat :)

I have just got back from the GP.  I went to

a) get my ankle checked out because it has been hurting for three weeks and is progressively getting worse.  it's currently puffy and a bit blue.  the gp told me there was no swelling and there's nothing wrong with it.  somehow, i think the fact that i can't put any weight on it without wearing my old lady shoes (i actually got them from an old lady at work - they are extra wide fitting and the insole says "extra comfort") shows that there *is* something wrong.

b) get a repeat prescription of my pill.  the gp weighed me and said i am morbidly obese, and i have to lose a stone in three months or i have to come off it.  i spent the first sixteen years of my life severely underweight and have only just, in the past  few years, started to eat properly without counting calories and skipping meals if i put on any weight. the gp didn't seem to think this may be a problem for me and reiterated the MORBID OBESITY point for 20 minutes.  no wonder so many people have eating disorders. 

i came home and had a beer.  lovely painkiller, lovely calories.

Cor blimey, I taste like Tea. I am a subtle flavour, quiet and polite, gentle, almost ambient. My presence in crowds will often go unnoticed. Best not to spill me on your clothes though, I can leave a nasty stain. What Flavour Are You?

The Good
~ my latest uni assignment arrived back in the post - 79%, i think i might be something of a genius.  
~ this week i only have to go in to work mon-tue-wed and then i have a whole 11 days off!  
~ it's nearly my birthday and birthdays = fun! 
The Not-So-Good
~ my parentals are taking ericat to the vet on monday.  we got her just before my 7th birthday so she is a very old kitty, i hope she gets better :(
~ we are still looking for a new housemate to move in in two weeks' time.  it's getting scarily close.
